So...where are "things" at the moment?
Though Iran supports Hezbollah and is the main supplier of weapons to the group, according to unverified reports, Iran doesn't want a full blown Middle East war. Iran knows if it attacked Israel in retaliation with missiles and drones then Israel would attack Iran with missiles and drones.
By Israel invading Lebanon with IDF ground forces supported by tanks and fighter jets it's really a turkey shoot against Hezbollah, the Lebanese people and the Lebanese government which doesn't have the military means to repel the invaders.
Thus far in retaliation Hezbollah "has sent a rocket barrage attacking the Mossad foreign intelligence service in central Israel".
The Houthi's in Yemen sent drones targeting Israeli army bases in Tel Aviv and Eilat according to the groups military spokesman. "The IDF shelled the Yemini port of Hodeida on Sunday after the Houthi's said they fired a missile at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport".
At the time this is being written, the above account is the known extent of retaliation against the Israeli's since it began its invasion.
But make no mistake; there are Islamic militants in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, the Arab monarchies on the Persian Gulf the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Bahrain which could attack US military bases and diplomatic facilities in those countries as they view the US as the primary ally of Israel and see no separation between them.
At this point it's hard to predict what will happen but Israel crossed a red line with its invasion of Lebanon.
One thing is certain there will be wide spread carnage with an untold number innocents maimed and killed before it's over.
