Musicians only need three chords and the truth to get us dancing and absorbing new wisdom, but it is comedians who are the real ninjas of introducing new thoughts, and more complex ideas.
Here, John Cleese, in one pithy minute, explains the Dunning-Kruger syndrome, a concept that helps me several times a day. .youtube.com/watch?v=kWX8pl9B1Hk
I see quite a few celebrations of the evolution of British humour, but little on a great American pioneer, Lenny Bruce. Here's "Christ and Moses go to church:" .youtube.com/watch?v=X-J4O-6hANU and "Fake News": .youtube.com/watch?v=RHW51JGtzS4
Comedians, like other artists, continue to put words to what we don't yet know we know, and do it with the wit to make the change fun, instead of a rejected bit of data that does not fit our pattern. We live in an age where people often get their news from comedy shows because the truth is too controversial otherwise. The Dali Lama laughs a lot, and recommends it highly.
