1. (chorus) Oh, what is the bloody reason, WBCN?
I asked myself this morning, and picking up my pen,
Wrote down my protest letter and I signed it with my name,
What is the bloody use of glorifying Nazi shame?
2.
We were down in Miami back in 1972,
The brothers all were gathered there to see what we could do,
We were not there ten minutes when a cry rang out for us,
And strapping on my gas mask, I dismounted from my bus.
3.
It took only a moment to arrive and grok the scene,
A flatbed full of Nazis, and the people getting mean,
Picking up full beer cans and preparing them to throw
At the Brown-shirted disgrace that had stood before them so.
It seems that they had roughly thrown two women off the stage,
We tried to parley with 'em, but encountered only rage,
Attempted to negotiate and found it all in vain,
And if the women came back they'd just be thrown off again.
5.
About this time one Nazi swung a chair at a brother's head,
And it was time to be the people's TPF we said,
And sixty seconds later, not a single Nazi stood,
'Cause we had picked them up and thrown them out the gate for good!
6.
Now when I went back to my tent, my woman waited there,
And she was just as shocked as I when my leg I laid bare,
And fully two-by-five a wound from steel-tip jackboot showed,
Which Nazi caused my Purple Heart I never even knowed.
7.
Now on the "people's station" here I hear it oft proclaimed
In sensationalistic terms that Ilsa is the name
Of the b*tch from Buchenwald the Nazi prisoners held in dread--
Why do they glorify her thirty years since she's been dead?
8.
The consciousness of people is affected adversely
By sneering, chortling advertisements of just such as she
You can't watch gentle lovemaking, the law says that's obscene,
But you can watch man's degradation if you're past eighteen
9.
So, what is the bloody reason, WBCN?
I asked myself this morning, and picking up my pen,
Wrote down my protest letter and I signed it with my name,
What is the bloody use of glorifying Nazi shame?
