Stalin, Lenin & Trotsky. The new alternative for the workers of the world and bitter enemies of the British colonialism.

Simply put, the USSR had to be contained and with Americans going back to their country, the only one left to do it were the British.

Breakdown of Ottoman Empire: Finally, after 900 years of war since the crusades, the Muslims lost and Christians won. The British cut down the Ottoman Empire like a cake. In doing so, they created countries that had never existed (Iraq & Kuwait) and conflicts that never will be resolved. It was the best possible outcome for the British Empire to plunder them and prevent unification.

The architects of the new Middle Eastern Map: Sir Winston Churchill (Severe alcoholic, ADD,old fashion Aristocrat, bitter enemy of socialism), and Major Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia: genius, homosexual masochist, racist, British spy).

The Security Belt around Soviet Union: for a short time the British were the kings of the world with no adversaries to speak of. They put all of their efforts into breaking the back of the Russian revolution. This change required a total change in British foreign policy. To contain socialism, the USSR had to be surrounded by strong nationalist dictators who would agree to be English servants. The beginning of this change in policy was successful. The list of these gentlemen is well known - Mussolini, Tito, Kamal Ataturk, the Hashemite family in Jordan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, Malek Furlough, Reza Shah Pahlavi, and Chiang Kai-shek. The problem with this list was that every one of these dictators suffered from the Disease of Dictators - the development of an "exaggerated sense of self importance."

The Benevolent Dictator

The end of First World War produced additional problems for Iran. The soviet forces were helping the Iranian nationalist groups in Iranian Northern provinces to set up soviet style governments, which would have achieved independence from the incompetent Iranian government.

Mirza Kuchak Khan: Started as a local religious rebel, became the founder of the soviet republic of Gilan, got betrayed by soviets, Froze to death while running away from Reza Khan.

The British had to land some force in Iran and go up north by Russian border to contain some of these skirmishes. But this was not going to do it. Maintaining forces so far away from England was far too expensive and difficult to manage. They needed an Iranian with guts and brains to do it for them - the castrated Ghajar dynasty was too rotten to use.

They sent two people to find their man, General Ironside for the military aspect, and Mr. Ardeshir Reporter, a British intelligence officer from India who was a Parsi (Parsi people of India are actually the Iranian Zoroastrians who ran away from Iran during Muslim invasion and are still in India. They cooperated with the British and were the backbone of their civil service. They were mainly chosen because they have lighter skin than people of India).
