So what difference can the little guy make? One needs to start from the bottom to influence the big boys at he very top! Why? They are the ones less likely to move, because failing to clean up saves them billions of dollars in expenses.
Already there is evidence of the power of the public to revolt for varying reasons. As reported by New York Times columnist Thomas L. Friedman, democracies like Turkey, Brazil, Egypt, Israel, Russia, Chile, and -- last year, at least -- the United States have already rebelled against world leaders for a variety of reasons including the exploitation of the middle class by the rich. So the potential people-power is there to do the same for the world's declining environmental conditions.
