The answers are complex, but boil down to one word: "spending!"
Just what the hell, you lame duck jerk, Mr. Bush, were you thinking!
Never mind - I doubt he was thinking at all! He probably delegated that too, just like Ronald Reagan before him!
Now, you've got to balance your check book, and account for your credit rating, right? And so do I!
So, why couldn't the Junior Bush grasp the simple economic idea of "pay as you go" and "don't spend what you don't have!"
My creepy credit report is awaiting me on my desk, just screaming at me: "Buddy, it's damn nigh time you paid me some attention!"
And I have no choice but to do so. So, I will and must!
It's an old expression: "In God we trust - all others pay cash!"
But our dollars and cents just aren't worth what they used to be. In fact, the national mints are considering the cessation of minting pennies.
Well, why not?! It's not exactly raining "pennies from Heaven" these days!
Therefore, back to the debater's question...
This judge has pretty much heard all he cares for from the affirmative and negative. He's watched all the news he cares to. He's hear every possible angle!
Quite simply put: we can' go on as we have been!
Of course we must spend. But we must spend wisely!
We've got a new President and a new lease on life.
But, as with any lease, the rent must be paid.
