The nightmare of having a child murderedis a fear of any parent;however, when a child is murdered by a known registered sex offender and/or a sex offender who has manipulated the registration process, answers need to be researched to avoid history repeating itself. As a mother, without an investigation, the fear isanever-ending roller coasterride, filled with emotions, anger, terror.
As a society, nothing we do now will bring Amber and Chelsea home to theirparents.However, we can change the future with corrective sanctions and research. Since Gardner is now serving the rest of his life in prison, I fear many unanswered questions will disappear andfiled away from public disclosure forever.Questions:
Will we ever know if Gardner himself was a victim of sex abuse and/or childhood violence?
Will the attorneys, Judges and parole officers responsible for enforcing laws protecting the public from sexual predators like Gardner be investigated for potential wrongdoing, political favors, with intent to avoid history from repeating itself?
