The Ayn Rand model, recently re-popularized by a misguided soul is wrong and suspect in a large percentage of the population including business. Unfortunately, we have been living under that model for centuries. The explanations of how those spoken of in the beatitudes will survive and prosper is vague coming from them. The Ron Paul description is the most truthful and also exposes the money/ wealth based, property over humanity, self-interest paradigm for what it is -- savage capitalism gone wild --it is survival of the fittest. Paul and his followers need to truly understand the inhumane nature of this thinking. Paul put his Austrian economics as his bible and the center of all humanity. This is of course wildly incorrect thinking and another sign of misalignment of the human condition with economics. They made economics the core of humanity instead of humanity the core of economics; resources the center instead of humans. The world has changed since Adam Smith who is misinterpreted all the time anyway. Scarce resources is not the central theme of economics any more as it once was. Even worse when it was the Austrian model is terribly devastating and inhumane. There were better ways even then, I'm sure. Smith credited with theory of the division of labor was also a critic of it and in his same book. He warned against the inhumanity of division of labor as being a dumbing down of the laborer -- something never acknowledged by too many economists. Buckminster Fuller also believed specialization was a human tragedy that destroyed human dignity and creativity that should be discarded. Pau's vision of economy certainly isn't what most would see as an advanced civilized society.
It is very obvious that this paradigm excludes the knowledge and information available over the last 40 or 60 years defining the needs of humanity as it progresses to be something quite different. Instead of better understanding humanity and committing to design in deeper democratic systems that meet those needs as well as expand and maintain freedom they opt for an old punishment based, patriarchical paradigm which is at the base of their flawed understanding of what needs done. They get elected because a large portion of the "active' electorate feels strongly the same way. These falsehoods, misconceptions and ignorance need to be thrown away as they are the real core of lack of solutions. We have a recalcitrant group of rulers demanding we all adhere to a harsh irrelevant damaging paradigm. In that most of the people running for our highest office embrace this is a sad commentary on America. This thinking needs to finally die in favor of an evolving functionality, not a utopian state without problems but rather a vibrant humanity dividing its time and considerable talents between substance, evolution and the democratic imperative of sustainability and the ability to continue to develop and evolve as individuals always moving toward that more perfect union.
I'm not sure if I'm a capitalist or believe in capitalism but I do know that either we all need to be capitalists or capitalism needs abandon in favor of freedom and free markets being a part of that freedom "for individual businesses and not mammoth oligarch cal governing organizations disguised and parading as businesses. I believe that is another focus and notion progressives need to adopt. Quit struggling with the oxymoron of free markets and massive corporations that have made it their business to "run and control' the markets for their benefit even as they may compete among themselves for that control. That paradigm leaves most of us out of the party. They are not businesses, they are governing oligarchies -- governments in and of themselves with massive influence on all of us. Their obsession with the bottom line, avoiding taxes, and dictating to government what they will do, as an instrument of freedom, as they would have you believe, is perverse and deluded. Their collective obsession with the bottom line has lasting damage on humanity - and their competition -- their wars among each other and the world in general - wreaks havoc in the world.
These perversions starting with the enormous too big to fail banking oligarchies need to be eliminated. Let's quit pretending they are businesses and end a nonsensical, never ending debate about curtailing freedom if we interfere with their "rights'. Bullshit! A few of these mega conglomerates are controlling the very instrument of justice -- the all-time most powerful arbiter of justice are not free enterprises. They are fascist governments overarching all other governments. Otherwise how do you explain the bailouts, how do you explain the banks currently DICTATING to sovereign countries how they will run their own affairs. This is exactly 180 degrees out of sync. The fact we accept this artificiality as gospel is a credit to the skills of obfuscation and deceit they have become masters at, and also their illusions of grandeur -- that they are Gods -- The real masters of the Universe. They feel unobligated, and as if we should bow to their "wisdom'. These institutions of mass corruption legal or not need to go. It surprises one that political philosophers and historians like Gingrich, constitutional scholars like Obama haven't noticed, defined or discovered these realties and worked to eliminate them instead of perpetuating them. Humanity is starting to demand justice. Functional humanity demands it over artificiality and the dominion of artificial entities doing the real governing in the world:
o Put the money system under the treasury
o Eliminate the Fed or absorb it into the treasury to continue its economics work which does have value.
o Eliminate debt based money. Never again does any government, State or Federal, borrow money for operation or collect taxes. Government is the sovereign. Money is a national system equally important as the justice system and the system of democratically governed free Americans, albeit horribly abused, now established. The proper alignment of money is described in the constitution as congressional responsibility, albeit vaguely.
o Circulate money directly to the economy for government projects and directly to citizens
o Value the money based on the living cost of everyday people and their share of the commons, military -- road, infrastructure, airports etc.
o Change and hope we needed is listed here. These 4 Steps are imperatives for the mosby system :
o
- Elimination of a debt based money system.
o A money system operated by the peoples house -- the U.S. Treasury
