Have you practiced saying President Romney? (laughter)
Speaker:
I don't really want to think about it.
Moore:
Just to hear what it sounds like. What we do, Well, I think we have to cross that bridge when we come to, we don't have to fall on those lines. Really our only enemy is racism at this point, so that's why he's doing so well, it's not because people like him, they're capable to put aside their bigotry for the Mormons, because the bigotry for what kind of person is in the White House is overwhelming. It overwhelms them. They have been on fire for the last four years, they were totally unreserved, that's why they just make one crazy statement after another because it has totally driven on the same"And while it has been fun for us to watch fact to the matter is that there are definitely 40% of our fellow Americans, that they can run --fill in the blank, and they'd vote for that person instead of Obama. I think it's gonna be up to who gets the vote out. Obama's currently screwed, because his base is not very excited. Base frame, I guess if he can get people out to vote because of fear that might work, maybe not. What does work is what he didn't know. He squandered opportunity after opportunity to do what he promised to do for Guantanamo, to this, and people are depressed, and this is what I get when I'm walking in the train station or somewhere, people will say "I'm gonna vote for Obama", "oh that's good", "are you gonna give rides to the polls?" "no I'm not gonna do that this time", "I'll vote for him",
That's horrible. That's bad news for Obama, the enthusiasm is not there, the fear is there, so they'll probably stalk the fear as much as they can to get the people out to go, that's kind of sad, it's not the message of optimism at all, but he just got tough in the last few months, he just started getting adapt. I don't understand what part of the ten million vote victory did he not understand. He had a mandate and he acted as he was there to sing koombaya. Pull your head to the other side, they're Americans too. How do you think they would have acted, if McCain won? So last thing, I'll say about this, Barack Obama won the White House, and he lost the white vote. You know how many white people are in this country? How do you lose the white vote and get elected in the White House? He did it, because there was an enormous amount of African Americans and Hispanics, and then the45% of the white people who voted for him, but a large number of them were women, and 60% of that number were women, and young people had the largest turnout since 18 year olds had been given the right to vote in 1971, and that's how he won, with that coalition of those people. But he spent the last two years, making sure that the angry white male wouldn't be too angry with him. And I think that, that has hurt him, in terms of his base, that he needs to get up and keep going to support him, to get this vote out, so it's all gonna be about who gets the people out of the house, and one side is gonna go out of fear of black people, and the other side will be of fear of Romney. I put forth to you that fear of black people in America, is much more than fear of Romney. Whatever hatred or fear we have of Romney doesn't match 10% of the intensity that others have of Barack Obama. I'm sorry to say the bad news here, but I'm sure you must've lived this already that we've got a big problem in front of us. And I hope he figures out, and I hope we figure out what to do between now and November.
Woman in the audience:
Several months ago"
Speaker:
Last question"
Woman in the audience:
Not so much a question, maybe a ray of hope. Several months ago I sat with you and I sad to you, and I asked you, Michael what is it gonna take, this was before Zuccotti Park and your answer to me is, it is going to take a spark, and then I went to Zuccotti Park and I said there's Michael's spark, no matter who gets elected, I'm a 60s child. There is hope out there. The young people are mobilizing, and we need to give them support where we can, and I think everybody in this room knows it. You were right, it does take a spark.
Moore:
I think that a lot of great things have happened in the last year, starting in Tunisia actually, with the food stand vendor. So I am optimistic, I am just saying I know how hard it felt. I don't think that any of us is taking it for granted that we've got an easy road ahead of us. I'm just saying Mr. Obama could have made it an easy road, had he had a little more of the fight in him. Nobody would have thought badly of him if he'd fought, no one would have been scared, and those who are scared of him, would just be more scared. And everybody else who is not racist and people would have his back.
Woman in the audience:
I'm not sure what Obama thought about Medicare [23:13 inaudible] social security, would axe the deficit longer, we have people that already past the budget to privatize Medicare and senator Jim DeMint wants to get rid of it entirely in 2014 and speaking of fear I'm [23:33 inaudible] fear among the republicans might be increasing, I have a little wire about getting after them so that Republicans who won't get Medicare, I'm trying to get them to choose between winning the cultural war Vs. the Medicare, but I can't seem to get any attention
