Additional considerations
The dramatic growth of telework poses an extra opportunity for malefactors to execute their foul play on a large scale. Besides VPN compromise and virtual meetings software hacks, crooks are also increasingly orchestrating phishing attacks that revolve around the novel coronavirus panic.
For instance, one of the recent email hoaxes of that kind impersonates the World Health Organization (WHO) to dupe people into disclosing their sensitive information. In another scam mimicking alerts from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), perpetrators lure users to follow phishing links disguised as reports about new COVID-19 infection cases in the recipients' area.
All in all, businesses are currently in the epicenter of a cyber-quake. Therefore, it's time for them to give their secure postures an overhaul and be prepared for the new challenges.
