So imagine my joy when I heard about Cindy and other Gold Star Families For Peace. Since then I followed her activity closely and for me she personified the REAL AMERICA. She kept me going. But now she needs help. Her article (see the link above) is full of bitter disappointment; the antiwar movement is collapsing under the burden of serial betrayals by the Dems and Obama. Cindy, the eternal torchbearer feels abandoned. The best lack all conviction while the worst are full of passionate intensity.

Someone said that the world does not want to be saved, just wants to be left alone. That's true only partially. Nuclear weapons tore apart that philosophy. Albert Einstein said that we had to learn to think differently: to save the world now means to save thyself. Cindy Sheehan is one of those who thinks differently. She lost her son to the Big Lie. She looked that Lie in the eyes and saw Death, not only for her son but for many more sons and daughters here and in other countries. And like Martha Corey, like Stephan Lux she put herself in front of the Big Lie calmly drawing a line in the sand; here I stay and can't do otherwise. This country claims to follow the Lutheran morality; remember how Luther started?

People like Cindy Sheehan are indispensable; they are the people for all seasons. They are the quite heroes, the locomotives of progress, the driving forces of goodness. In all times when they appear the people around them seem not worth the effort. We, the people prefer to take it easy and we do not move until "fried rooster kicks us in the ass' per the Russian saying. In many cases that is too late and then we bury our children and cry hypocritical tears out of our lying eyes. We are usually neither good, nor bad, something amorphous; we are mediocre even in our human functions: sex, love, hate, parenthood. We seem to deserve what is coming. But that is not true.

Casey Sheehan did not die for a bunch of sheep. He died to ignite a torch his mother now carries. We cannot escape the light of that torch-it shines through any darkness. We thus can't hide. So each of us, reluctantly and afraid, still stands up and does something. Each of us thus stands on the wall. That is a very weak wall with lots of holes. The enemy is not only outside- he is very much within. But if we abandon the cause, if we just go away- not only we all will be eliminated one-by-one; our children will be eliminated before us. And then God will condemn us all to Hell. I, a committed atheist, consider the messages from such people like Martha, Stephan and Cindy as messages from the High Power. We better listen good.

God bless Cindy Sheehan and her cause. It is our cause and it is just. We shall overcome. I urge all the good to return to passionate intensity.
