Susan: We now belong to Angelic Organics. We've been members of a CSA for over 15 years. When we joined Prairie Crossing, there were only one or two that delivered to the Chicago area. Now, there are many. Here's how it works: You purchase an annual share in the farm and then the farm gives you a share of the produce. With Angelic Organics, we get a box of produce once a week for twenty weeks. The amount and type of produce will vary depending on the season, weather, and other growing conditions. When our children were little, they used to enjoy opening the weekly box with me and figuring out what each item was. We learned about various vegetables that we had never eaten before. The produce is fresh, organic and locally produced, and these small farms are working to hold their own in a world of increasingly more corporate farming.

Let's take a break here. When we come back, Susan and Mike will talk about how they try to pass on their good example without being annoying. They'll also give us lots more green ideas and resources. Please join us.
