The calendars not only encourage kids to be kind to others, but also include self-kindness and confidence and resilience-building activities such as appreciating everyone's differences.
They also aim to help children open up their eyes to different cultures and places each calendar focuses on a different part of the world: currently Paris, New York, Scandinavia and Australia, and we will include more in the future.
MAB:
Like most artists, I'm a kid at heart, and I love your advent calendar for myself as well as for my granddaughter. She has the Scandi Snowy Forest, and I have the New York Ice Skating one. We are opening the doors and sharing the surprises behind them with each other on our Zoom visits!
TB:
I'm happy to hear that you two are enjoying these together over Zoom! I want this calendar to inspire connecton and reflecton, while teaching people that our intentons, choices and words have the power to change the world for the better.
MAB:
Well, I think they do! Your Crystal Advent Calendar is so special, and I love the concept of a "grownup" advent calendar. It's so much fun unwrapping the beautiful natural stone and its corresponding affirmation card each day and learning its meaning! I keep the stone in my pocket all day so I can be mindful of its energy.
I like that this interactive calendar is not specifically for the traditional "Christmas Advent" season, so it can be used any time. According to Webster's Dictionary, one of the definitions of "advent" is "The coming or arrival of something or someone that is important or worthy of note." So I see this calendar as the ADVENT-ure of connecting more deeply with my inner being...a great journey to be on any time of the year!
The stone behind the little door I opened today was about trusting my intuition, I love the affirmation. You offer two versions of the Crystal Calendar, "Self-Love" and "Inner Peace" -- what's the difference between them?
TB:
Only the outside of the box is different - as I wanted adult women to enjoy the Inner Peace-themed one and then I created the Self Love version to be enjoyed by teenage girls!
MAB:
Well, I think that's great, it's hard to be a teen girl these days! And it is hard to be an adult sometimes, too! Ha!
