Now I'm retired. I look back 40 years with great satisfaction that I had nothing to do with approving this poison. I fought it as hard as I could. This killer should have been stopped. It killed lab rats, and now it's killing us. I'm glad to see others now proclaiming this, and the medical community awakening to aspartame toxicity."

Martini: So while Jerome Bressler has passed on his words from beyond the grave which prove that those involved in the original aspartame investigation all knew it was a poison and that it violated the Delaney Amendment because it causes cancer.
There was also a Dr. Thomas involved having to do with the teratology studies. You will see reference to his name in the Bressler Report. I did speak to his wife who said "Dr. Thomas will not comment or talk to anyone on those bad teratology studies. He doesn't want to get involved." That statement alone answered some of my questions.
For verification here is an article I wrote quoting FDA scientist Dr. Adrian Gross published by the National Health Federation:

It's titled "No Safe Dose of Aspartame."
Also, here verbatim is Dr. Verrett's testimony to the Senate: https://www.nal.usda.gov/exhibits/speccoll/items/show/3899
The documentary "Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toKyRlpmG7A has several of the experts, and includes Washington DC attorney, James Turner explaining what Donald Rumsfeld did to get this poison marketed for human consumption. Turner worked with Dr. John Olney attempting to stop approval. The power of industry won out and a deadly chemical poison was unleashed on an innocent population,
Ohio Senator Howard Metzenbaum's US Senate hearings are also on my web site, www.mpwhi.com
Here are the URL's: http://www.mpwhi.com/congressional_record1.pdf
and http://www.mpwhi.com/congressional_record_1985.pdf
An 8 month investigation by Gregory Gordon of UPI also explains what went on: http://www.mpwhi.com/upi_1987_aspartame_report.pdf
As expected the FDA was flooded with complaints: http://www.mpwhi.com/92_aspartame_symptoms.pdf
During the hearings in the US Senate, it was mentioned the FDA, in order to get rid of complaints, told the public to call the AIDS hotline.
Senator Howard Metzenbaum introduced a bill to have independent studies done on the complaints they were seeing in the population like seizures, behavioral problems and drug interactions but again the power of industry won out and the bill never got out of committee.
