Dr. Arthur Hull Hayes (a friend of Donald Rumsfeld from the Defense Department circles, when Rumsfeld was a former Secretary of Defense) was made FDA Commissioner, entirely so he could overturn the Board of Inquiry's revocation.
Hayes then went to work for the PR Agency of the manufacturer, Burson Marstellar, at $1000.00 a day on a ten year contract. An old article said he was only there about 15 days.
The late Dr. Hayes repeatedly refused to talk to the press about aspartame, and there is very clear footage of him refusing questions at his own front door, which was part of a major TV news story on Aspartame.

G. D. Searle did conduct studies in several nations using people from poor villages, who were given lots of aspartame.

D. Searle was bought out by Monsanto, thus giving the guilty executives and corporate officers a new way to hide from disgrace, censure, and even prosecution.
