THE 2012 ELECTION IS OVER AND THE REPUBLICANS HAVE STOLE ANOTHER ELECTION. THE REPUBLICANS WILL CONTROL ALL REIGNS OF POLITICAL POWER IN THIS COUNTRY FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.
The Republicans will appoint at minimum two more corporate, Koch brother Judges to the Supreme Court and scores of anti-rights, anti-consumer judges to the lower courts. The Democratic Party will be relegated to the back benches of American politics for at least a decade.
One third of the states have past "Jim Crow style" voter suppression laws. It is estimated that the Republicans will discourage or prevent over five million mostly democratic voters from exercising their right to vote.
In addition, Republican legislators around the country have pursued aggressive racial gerrymandering and electoral college changes in their states to achieve predictable republican outcomes. States like Nebraska and Pennsylvania are proposing changes to how they count their electoral college numbers. In the state of Nebraska the legislative changes would eliminate 98% of their Black citizens collective electoral choice and give that choice to the Republican Presidential candidate.

There are efforts by democratic and civil rights activist around the country trying to address the republicans latest assault on our freedoms in the offending republican controlled states. However my brothers and sisters in the Democratic Party and the Civil Rights community have treated this issue like it was a "States Rights" abuse on the part of state legislatures. There is clearly a coordinated effort to prevent certain groups of democratic voters from exercising their right to the franchise.
These coordinated voter ID (voter suppression) bills are a product of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC)

Some of the "voter ID" legislation that have been passed by republican legislative bodies across this nation are almost identical in context and scope, this is clearly an attack on the voting and civil rights of Blacks, Latino and Elderly class American citizens. This is a commerce clause issue and should be treated as such. To seek remedy on a state by state basis is a time waster and a distraction. This is something that demands federal review and action under the commerce clause because of its obvious national coordinated deleterious intent.
The Democratic party needs to solicit the signatures of every registered democrat, any freedom loving Independent or Republican on a petition to Attorney General Eric Holder and the Civil Rights division of the justice department and demand that he seek trough the federal court an injunction to all state voter ID and electoral changes legislation. We need time for subpoena and judicial discovery to ascertain the level of coordinated legal and constitutional violation by right- wing and republican " Southern Strategist " .
I have said in one of my previous editorials (rants) that blacks have never had unfettered access to the voting booths in the history of this country. Some states like Florida have brilliantly linked the political with their judiciary and have eliminated 1/3 of their Black citizens from the voting rolls.
The Democratic Party may be looking at a cataclysmic electoral collage and popular vote loss in the 2012 campaign. I believe the actual loss of Democratic voters in 2012 will exceed 8 -11 million. Democrats can not afford to bury our heads in the sand on this one.
We need to act NOW.
