Are men beasts?
Well, at least real men are not. Nor do they behave like beasts.
Indian sages from ancient to present times postulate a vegetarian diet for humans.
Humankind considers itself to be above animals. The latter tend to react on instincts rather than act on a well-thought-out rational behaviour. In other words, animals are held to be lacking a well-developed mind. A mind that can reason, decide the pros and cons of a situation, and then act or react upon it as per a rational analysis. Since an animal cannot do so, it is called a beast. Hence it is a commonly held belief that the human entity is a highly evolved and therefore a much higher species than the simple-minded animals.
Humans float the theory that since they can think, as they have a brain and hence a mind, they do not behave like animals. Thus they hold that they are above the beast. Yet, were so the case, then why does not common human behaviour reflect a better, an evolved mentality and rationality than that of an animal?
Beast kill for food. Without thought. Humans kill for food. With thought.
So, who is the better of the species? The animal that knows nothing more than its primal instincts, is not aware or awakened to a better reasoning and therefore kills for food; or the human species that lays claim to understand matters much better yet behaves like a beast?
Who is the better dude?
The animal, governed by its basic impulse, of hunger, knows no reason not to kill for food. Humans, the so-called higher species, said to be empowered by a so-called rational mindset, knowingly kill for food though they know very well that they need not do so.
Humankind cannot let go of the beast within.
Those humans among us, the ones who have either been instructed by an evolved teacher and guru at some time or the other, or have by their own efforts reached a somewhat better understanding of things, they turn away from beastly behaviour. Thus they either shun meat eating, or by better reasoning choose not to kill animals just to satiate their taste buds.
The more spiritually awakened and better informed sensitive people are bold and brave enough to put a stop to their bad, beastly behaviour. They dare to defy the hold of stone-age customs and traditions of their respective regions, as too the beastly dogmas of their inherited or imbibed popular -isms. Alternatively they evolve into a far, far better species. Of real men.
Who are the real, masculine ones among us?
Only those ones who are strong, secure and sensitive to the notion and norms of the Absolute Reality are real men. Others among us, even the so-called alpha males, just do not have the manly power, the real masculinity to manfully seek and obtain a higher and stronger grasp of manly matters; i.e. getting the Truth of What Is.
