Widows of 9/11 Pilots Urge Hartzok for Congress Campaign to Alert the Citizens of District 9 to Real and Present Danger
Hartzok Announces 10/14 Press Conferences
Chambersburg, PA: Evidence is mounting that important legislation, essential to prevent another possible terrorist hijacking of United States domestic and international airline flights, is being blocked by Pennsylvania District 9 Congressman Bill Shuster who heads the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
Ellen Saracini, widow of Captain Victor J. Saracini who was the United Flight 175 pilot when the plane was hijacked and crashed into the South Tower on 9/11, has contacted the Hartzok for Congress campaign urging action to alert the citizens of District 9 to the dire consequences that could result from Shuster's inaction.
Saracini's appeal is backed by the Families of 9/11 and the 55,000 members of the Airline Pilots Association who support the Saracini Aviation Safety Act of 2013 (H.R. 1775) as does the Allied Pilots Association, The Coalition of Airlines Pilots Association, US Airline Pilots Association, Association of Flight Attendants, Federal Flight Deck Officers Association, and the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
"I am putting Congress on notice that the safety and security of the United States of America is jeopardized by Congress' unwillingness to close a fatal aviation security flaw," said Saracini in one of her many appeals to Congressman Shuster to move on the Act. "We are still vulnerable to an airline cockpit intrusion."
In response to Saracini's plea that District 9 citizens be alerted to this situation, the Hartzok for Congress campaign is holding press conferences on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14 at these locations:
8:30am-9:30am Press Conference, Franklin County Democratic Party HQ
256 S. Main Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201
