There is controversy and mystery surrounding the 3 pyramids of Gaza. The technology needed to build them seems so far ahead of what was available to a people who had no iron and no wheels.
The mystery deepens when we recognize that there were more pyramids in other places around the world, some larger and older (well, that's another question, since some claim the Egyptian pyramids are much older than 5,000 years).
The Egyptian pyramids were built on flat ground in a desert, so they remain obvious, artificial features in the landscape, thousands of years later. This is what a pyramid looks like if it is built in a mountainous area where thousands of years of wind and weather have had a chance to do their work.
This pyramid is in Bosnia. It is 190 meters in height, compared to 140 meters for the Great Pyramid at Giza. Radiocarbon dating of some writing on the rocks underneath the vegetation suggests an age of 30,000 years.
You know about the Aztec Pyramid of the Moon at Teotehuacan. I wrote last year about a North American pyramid in East St Louis. There are pyramids in China as well, near Xi An, more than 300 meters tall and thought to be 8,000 years old. But these dates are all debated.
