"Chief Clerk" Sarah Lifschitz, who falsely appeared in that title for over 10 years, resigned as of October 31, 2013.  Today's letter to the law professors voiced the concern that the Bar's failure to take action in this matter, which is central to integrity of the justice system, should lead to the opinion of "corruption of the legal profession in Israel" under reasonable international-review standards.

Renowned Israeli law professors Daniel Friedman, Mota Kremnitzer, Menahem Mautner, Barak Medina, Amnon Rubinstein, Yedidyah Stern.

Occupy Tel-Aviv, November 4  -- Joseph Zernik, PhD, of Human Rights Alert (NGO), forwarded a request to renowned Israeli law professors Daniel Friedman, Mota Kremnitzer, Menahem Mautner, Barak Medina, Amnon Rubinstein, and Yedidyah Stern to exert their good faculties in affecting action by the Israel Bar Association in order to ensure lawful appointment of a Chief Clerk for the Supreme Court of the State of Israel.
"Chief Clerk" Sarah Lifschitz, who falsely appeared under that title for over 10 years, resigned as of October 31, 2013.  During the period that she falsely occupied the office, corresponding to the tenure of Presiding Justices Aharon Barak, Dorit Beinisch, and Asher Grunis, the electronic records of the Israeli Supreme Court have been corrupted in an unprecedented manner.
As of today, efforts to establish the nature of present occupation of the office of Chief Clerk of the Supreme Court remain ambiguous.
Request, which was filed yesterday with the Israel Bar Association, asked for action by the Bar to ensure lawful appointment of a Chief Clerk for the highest court of the land.
Today's letter to the law professors voiced the concern that Bar's failure to take action in this matter, which is central to integrity of the justice system, should lead to the opinion of "corruption of the legal profession in Israel" under reasonable international-review standards.
The letter also noted instances in recent years in which the Bar or its representatives took positions in efforts to stem  the corruption of the courts, e.g., the Judges Vardah AlSheikh and Hila Cohen affairs.
The news of the resignation of "Chief Clerk" Sarah Lifschitz to the best of knowledge has not been reported by Israeli media yet.  There is no doubt that resignation of the secretary of cabinet, or the secretary of Knesset, would have resigned.  Moreover, the resignation of "Chief Clerk" Sarah Lifschitz comes after the filing of two criminal complaints alleging fraud in the unlawful occupation of office and fraud in certification of Supreme Court records.
