Barber cutting hair by alexaleutians
Take my barber as an example of a conservative who looks down. He is a hard-working white guy, in his mid-fifties, who hunts with his two wonderful hunting dogs (for practical reasons and to sustain his self-identity). When he owned a home (before it was foreclosed), he did all of the maintenacne and painting by himself. Now that he lives in a mobile home and must commute 55 minutes to his barber shop (rather than 5 minutes previously), he continues to work hard, lengthening his work day and shortening his work week, so that he can drive 5 hours north (in his pickup with his dogs) on weekends to assist his aging parents. There, he chops wood for their fireplace to serve as heat during the winter, does maintenance and odd jobs, and goes hunting. In case you haven't got the picture yet, he works very hard all the time. He is a wonderful guy with amazing attributes. You gotta love him.
However, he suffers an attribute shared by most conservatives. He is adamant that he doesn't want to pay taxes to support those less fortunate than him. No way, no how. And, he doesn't want to pay for a military as well, for he doesn't see how military adventures contribute to his well being. In short, he is emphatic that his taxes should not be used for anything other than for something that directly benefits him. As for Obamacare (or, if you like, Obamneycare), forget it, bro. In his view, this program will use his taxes in a way that does not directly benefit him - he has private insurance. Forget your argument that Obamneycare is designed to reduce overall healthcare spending - he doesn't believe that. Forget any argument that Obamneycare will be beneficial to the nation as a whole - he still doesn't want to pay any required taxes (whether true or not).
P.S. My barber believes both parties are "crooks".Heh, you talk to him. Good luck.
