The awe-inspiring Amanda Gorman gifted us with a poem for the new year.
Amanda S. C. Gorman (born 1998) is an American poet, published author and activist. A Harvard graduate, her work focuses on issues of oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization, as well as the African diaspora. Gorman was the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate.
In 2021, she delivered her poem "The Hill We Climb" at the inauguration of U.S. President Joe Biden.
Gorman has said on several occasions that she intends to run for president in 2036.
