What do politicians do with the information that voters give them? The November 5 election for mayor of Hollywood, in South Florida, is approaching. So I'm about to find out.
You see, just the other day, I shared a number of informational nuggets with one of four candidates for mayor. From my perspective, two of the items dealt with issues of public importance. A third plum dived into the weeds of what we commonly call "inside baseball". And a fourth treasure was a complicated brew of information that can probably be described as a political Rorschach test.
So, this last serving will be the one that interests me the most. That's because I know the background and context of the information. And I believe the information shows that a different candidate for mayor is extremely conscientious and transparent.
Hey, when's the last time any of us used the words conscientious and transparent when mentioning someone running for office?
So, stay tuned. We'll find out soon if the politician I contacted ignores my information, deals with it in the public interest or seeks to exploit and twist it. We've got about two weeks to go before Election Day. And Early Voting beings on Oct. 21.
I'll keep y'all posted.
