I wonder if the former governor of Alaska isn't holed up in some Kaczynski style cabin, blathering out her Facebook Manifestos. When Dick Cheney pops up like a whack-a-mole on Cialis, and you can bet Palin won't be far behind.

The Underwear Bomber and President Obama's response needed a special Palin edition;

It's War, not a Crime Spree

President Obama's meeting with his top national security advisers does nothing to change the fact that his fundamental approach to terrorism is fatally flawed. We are at war with radical Islamic extremists and treating this threat as a law enforcement issue is dangerous for our nation's security.

OK, I need a Word Salad Break: Looky, talking points: check! The President is quite aware of the War On Terror. Remember how you thought he'd listened to you a month ago about sending another 30,000 troops to Afghanistan? Right...did you think that was to fight the War On Burkas? The Fashionistas?

That's what happened in the 1990s and we saw the result on September 11, 2001. This is a war on terror not an "overseas contingency operation." Acts of terrorism are just that, not "man caused disasters." The system did not work. Abdulmutallab was a child of privilege radicalized and trained by organized jihadists, not an "isolated extremist" who traveled to a land of "crushing poverty." He is an enemy of the United States, not just another criminal defendant.

Curious you'd bring up the 1990s. Like most Americans you were most likely watching the OJ Simpson trial in October, 1995. We all felt sad for Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman; and a fallen sports hero is always captivating. At the same time, then Federal Judge Michael Mukasey was presiding over the trial of the so-called "Blind Sheik," Omar Abdel Rahman. Ah yes, the uber liberal Mukasey who served as Bush's Attorney General. The sheik was found guilty of conspiring to blow up five locations in New York in a ten minute time span. Targets included the United Nations, the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, the George Washington Bridge and a federal building that housed the FBI. Kind of a badass. I know...the "Trial of the Century" was OJ's, not that of a terrorist. Apparently "the American People" don't find terrorists "sexy" enough to follow along on the TV.

It simply makes no sense to treat an al Qaeda-trained operative willing to die in the course of massacring hundreds of people as a common criminal. Reports indicate that Abdulmutallab stated there were many more like him in Yemen but that he stopped talking once he was read his Miranda rights.

Is this the part where you say, "Shoot first, ask questions later"? Hey, Sar, remember the Shoe Bomber? His name might not have sounded so...well, Islamic to you; Richard Reid. Only three months after 9/11 he tried to blow up a plane. YIKES! He was tried in criminal court by the Bush administration and is sitting in an American super-max prison for life. Judge William Young explained to him during the trial, "You are not an enemy combatant, you are a terrorist' ... 'You are not a soldier in any army, you are a terrorist. To call you a soldier gives you far too much stature." I'll save you the google...Judge Young was appointed by President Reagan. What the judge got, and you fail to, is clear. If you treat them like "soldiers" you honor them as such...treat them like the criminals they are, then throw away the key.

President Obama's advisers lamely claim Abdulmutallab might be willing to agree to a plea bargain - pretty doubtful you can cut a deal with a suicide bomber. John Brennan, the President's top counterterrorism adviser, bizarrely claimed "there are no downsides or upsides" to treating terrorists as enemy combatants. That is absurd. There is a very serious downside to treating them as criminals: terrorists invoke their "right" to remain silent and stop talking. Terrorists don't tell us where they were trained, what they were trained in, who they were trained by, and who they were trained with. Giving foreign-born, foreign-trained terrorists the right to remain silent does nothing to keep Americans safe from terrorist threats. It only gives our enemies access to courtrooms where they can publicly grandstand, and to defense attorneys who can manipulate the legal process to gain access to classified information.

I know this may be a dumb question...but how do YOU know what works with terrorists? As many Alaskans and former McCain campaign workers can testify, you don't take any prisoners. Truth has no bearing on who you deem guilty. Zacarias Moussaoui was convicted for 9/11 and has had his appeals process denied. Most Alaskans followed the Federal trials of Ted Stevens and the rest of the Corrupt Bastards Club. Did you know those neat little watercolor drawings they show on the news aren't just quaint...they are there BECAUSE THE FEDERAL TRIALS AREN'T TELEVISED!? You should know; it's hard to grandstand without a camera present.

President Obama was right to change his policy and decide to send no more detainees to Yemen where they can be free to rejoin their war on America. Now he must back off his reckless plan to close Guantanamo, begin treating terrorists as wartime enemies not suspects alleged to have committed crimes, and recognize that the real nature of the terrorist threat requires a commander-in-chief, not a constitutional law professor.

- Sarah Palin

My Goodness, I'm sure the President will be so glad to hear you liked something he did. News Flash: Guantanamo needs to be closed. It's a terrorist factory. Your posturing to know what the War on Terror needs from a Commander-in-Chief is hi-larious. You didn't even understand "what it is the vice-president does" before you faked your way through the campaign. You didn't even know what Western Alaskans needed to NOT STARVE while you were governor. I realize any expertise on the Constitution would only get in the way of the "Palin Doctrine".

In What Respect Sarah?
