Just when one thinks that Donald J. Trump's misguided and misbegotten Republican Presidential campaign cannot get even worse, deteriorate even further, or become even more disgusting, The Donald still manages to slide lower! Indeed, the Trump presidential campaign reminds one of Dante's Inferno, with worse-and-worse visions of the Hell that would be a Trump presidency.
The Donald's well-known preoccupation with genitalia led to his boasting, after Republican 2012 Presidential candidate Mitt Romney had well-deservedly termed Trump a megalomaniac liar and the like, that Romney would have gone down on his knees for Trump had The Donald asked him to do so in 2012. Later that same day, at a national debate, The Donald reassured America as to the adequacy of his male genitalia, in a spirited rebuttal of Sen. Marco Rubio's puerile earlier comments about the small size of his hands. And so goes the Trump campaign.
Having followed Presidential campaigns going back to FDR, I can attest that there has never been anything comparably vulgar, irrelevant, and insulting to everything America should stand for. What is being missed in all of the disgusting drivel is that Donald J. Trump has actually disqualified himself for the presidency of the United States of America through pre-emptive violations of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, which he would have to swear to uphold as President. The Donald has clearly told us that he has no intention of honoring an Oath of Office.
As to dealing with alleged terrorists, for example, Donald J. Trump boasts that he would go far beyond waterboarding, which has already been determined to be a cruel and unusual punishment in violation of the Eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights. But wait -- there's more: The Donald now says that he would kill families of suspected terrorists along with those terrorists themselves, a form of summary judgment which would be a Crime Against Humanity in violation of the international Geneva Convention and all judicial standards.
Perhaps the various multiple scams and cons Donald Trump has perpetrated in his slimy past life, such as all of those phony degrees issued by his misrepresented, unaccredited Trump University, would be insufficient for his impeachment as President, since they occurred before the election. Nevertheless, based on his various campaign promises of commitment to further illegal and improper actions were he to ever become our President, Trump's impeachment would be likely. Donald J. Trump has neither conception nor understanding of the Separation of Powers under the Constitution, boasting that a "strong" President (i.e. himself) can do what he damn well pleases. Even the House and Senate Republican leadership have already rejected that mistaken Trumpian view, in a strong joint public statement -- none of which, sadly, would deter Trump as President!
While some hard-core Trump supporters and enthusiasts will never be convinced of his blatant and fatal flaws, Americans tend to reject demagogues, bullies, and blowhards like Donald J. Trump. Sensible Republicans need to start rejecting Trump in all upcoming primaries, while developing an effective strategy to block him at their Convention if necessary. The Donald will not prevail in a Presidential general election--and even his nomination would mark the end of the Republican Party, and the inevitable rise of fascism in the U.S. We all know where that leads.
