They lie to us about all of the wars!

Our leaders lied to us about Korea.

They lied about Vietnam.

They lied about Kosovo.

Professor Jeffrey Sachs: "In 1999, we bombed Belgrade for 78 days. The point of that was to break Serbia in two, to create a new state, Kosovo, where we have the largest NATO military base in southeast Europe."

They lied about Afghanistan.

They lied about Iraq.

They lied about Libya.

They lied about Syria.

They're lying about Gaza.

They're lying about the need for war with China.

They're lying about Ukraine.

Professor John Mearsheimer: "Putin did not want this war. He went to great lengths before February 24, 2022, when the war started, to head it off at the pass. He wanted to come up with a diplomatic solution. And then shortly after the war broke out in February, he was negotiating with the Ukrainians to work out a deal. All he really cared about, it's quite clear from all of the reports of the people who were involved in the discussions, was he wanted a neutral Ukraine. And if he'd gotten a neutral Ukraine, this is right after the war started, I believe there's a good chance the war could have been shut down. But it was the Americans and the British who moved in and basically told Zelensky that he had to walk away from the negotiations. Because we believed that we could win the war."

Why should we believe them, when they say we have to spend so much money on the military?

When they say " that we can't afford a decent life here in America, for Americans.

When they say " that you and I don't deserve, our fair share of our nation's vast wealth.

Since WWII, every war has been based on lies. They have been wars of CHOICE, but justified by a series of lies and relentless propaganda about all the wonderful things America is doing in the world. These lies will bankrupt our country, destroy us as a nation, scatter our talents and resources, turn our "great empire" into rubble. We the people must stop this insanity.

Yes.

If the goal is ending war, I believe we need to use "out of the box" perspectives and tactics.

The ETs are here (a number of species, apparently). Bringing this to light (Disclosureproject, Steven Greer on Youtube) is an unusual way to approach this subject; but our usual avenues - in the face of what you and others have shared - simply may not work or need to be supplemented.

I've offered a few outside-the-box strategies. Apparently they are so outside the realm of usual discussion, they are incomprehensible.

Candidate Contracts

The Peace Dividend Strategy

A Nation at Peace

All focus on replacing the corrupt, compromised people in power with candidates who will listen to, report to, and serve the citizens who elect them to office.

John,

It's wonderful that you are thinking creatively about this stuff.

I can only add my perspective.

My thought is that humanity is first going to hit have to bottom. Like an ETOHic, we are, as Bob Stuart wrote, "addicted" to war (and the dominator system which births and maintains it).

I believe it will be truly terrible to hit bottom. Yet, it may serve to open us.

If we are very fortunate, there will be a concatenation of events leading to a kundalini awakening in a great many people. Our life energy, which now in many ways abides in the 1st three chakras will rise to the fourth - the heart center.

And possibly higher, as our species undergoes an accelerated evolutionary process. There are many indications that this is possible and that it is the force driving current events.

I think most people are here to hear your perspective, Blair. Your two cents is es-cent-tial to a thought-provoking exchange of ideas. I suspect most people dismiss my two cents as non-cents.

"My thought is that humanity is first going to hit have to bottom."

Hitting bottom should be therapeutic and cleansing, assuming anyone is still alive. I'll be thinking about hitting bottom tonight as I try to get to sleep. Maybe an epiphany will visit me in the form of a dream.

"Your two cents is es-cent-tial to a thought-provoking exchange of ideas."

Yours as well, John.

Again, from my angle on things - war can be thought of as a consequence of humanity's "entrapment" in the 1st three chakras - survival, sexuality and pleasure, and power.

If we are very fortunate, the coming/current mega-crisis will help us to grow beyond.

Hi John,

I want to begin by saying that I have much respect for your talents and the varied life experiences I sense you have had.

You asked about the "mega-crises" I suggested were on the way and have already begun. I can add a few more POVs beyond what is said in my article. And I think all of these factors are directly relevant to the goal of abolishing war.

The first is presence of malignant narcissists in positions of power. Fromm, Peck, and more recently - Bandy Lee have written extensively about this phenomenon. These are, without question, some of the most destructive beings on the planet. They thrive on destruction - of people, relationships, institutions --- and they seek out positions from which they can rein...and rain down fire on others.

Then there is the reality of "political ponorology." There's a book by that name; it's a difficult read with awkward language, but I feel its basic concepts are important. The central idea is that MN's recognize, seek out, and gravitate to one another - creating more danger than any can do individually. We see this, for example with Trump, Musk, Bannon, Miller, etc. And with Trump and Netanyahu.

My sense is we must include psychological understandings and insights in any political analysis of current events.

"My sense is we must include psychological understandings and insights in any political analysis of current events."

There's tons of analysis which make it clear that we are increasingly ruled by psychopaths and sociopaths. 'Psychological understandings and insights' are abundant. As we share these with more and more people, it is important we provide actionable remedies, not just talk and whining.

"The first is presence of malignant narcissists in positions of power."

The most cursory reading of my writings also makes it clear that the entire focus of my activist proposals is REMOVING THESE PEOPLE FROM POWER. It astonishes me that there is very little discussion and brainstorming about this critical element, the only path to serious change.

I get your eagerness for solutions. That's natural and I wish more people had this perspective. On the other hand, I would caution about jumping to solutions too quickly.

I read the article. There was nothing new here for me. What I hoped for was missing. That is, a plan of action which engages and enlists everyday people in the process of healing. You and I and other aware readers know we need spiritual transformation, a healing of the spirit, a new direction which stops the plundering of our planet. I was left with the sense that further decline, social disintegration environmental degradation, war, and all else that point to collapse, are inevitable. After all . . .

"The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed, and apathy - and to deal with those we need a spiritual and cultural transformation - and we scientists don't know how to do that."

I should find that reassuring? Inspiring?

Desperation has set in. It clouds judgement.

Hi John,

My sense is that we need to diagnose the problem at depth, along with thinking about and discussing solutions. What I find is that many offerings are superficial.

Also that, following Joanna Macy - we must make room for despair or this plane ain't never getting off the ground.

If we want to stop war, there are many things we can do in everyday life. Some of the most powerful ones may seem counterintuitive.

Many people are not up to being challenged - and from your recent messages, that's exactly what I would have needed to do.

Best wishes on your journey.

"War is Making Us Poor" meme, I'm sad to say, looks doomed and irrelevant for a number of reasons. One of these is the need to transcend our anger and put-down mentality.

We don't have to kill people to be among the war-makers. We can make war ('not love') with words. Part of cleaning up our own act is coming to terms with our tendencies to see in others what we don't see in ourselves. Turns out the enemy we need to defeat is within (as Pogo has famously said), starting with our arch-foe: denial.

Interestink!...

I share my respect and appreciation for your talents and varied life experiences - and you can't help yourself from knee-jerk, impulsive put-downs after reading one article. (One that is a hell of a lot more realistic than your meme). But this is nothing new.

There's no snowball in hell called 'War is Making Us Poor' that has a chance of staying solid.

You wrote:

"'Psychological understandings and insights' are abundant. As we share these with more and more people, it is important we provide actionable remedies, not just talk and whining."

Talk about missing the mark. They are not. Your use of the term 'just talk and whining' shows that nothing of the sort has made a dent in (your) Marblehead. Not one ray of illumination. Too bad.

You described the piece/my input as 'superficial,' but there must be a part of you that knows it is anything but - and that it is your approach that is describable by the 'S' word.

I suggested you read that article to set a context for further discussion. It was not intended as a venue for practical steps. But, like Jimmy H. once said - "Castles made of sand fall in the sea...Eventually."

If a person wants to seriously address the matter of war (and I surmise that you actually don't), there are 2 initial practical steps that need to be taken.

One first step is gaining an in-depth analysis of false-flag operations (like 9/11), which are increasingly used as the entree to the main course of war.

The second is for anyone who is serious about war to take a long look at our own inner unfinished business. And especially the war-monger within.

Otherwise, we are likely to project (as you have done) and be unable to see life without adding our own distorted overlay. Want to stop war that is making us poor?...clean up your act.

Doing our own inner work is more important than ever, now that we have entered into Trump-world (which I expect to be a hell of a lot dangerous than 'Bush-world' ... and that was a horror show.) How could you nazi that?

"REMOVING THESE PEOPLE FROM POWER."

You apparently are living in lal-lal-land. "These people" are being installed all over the planet - and by manipulating the media and other levers - it is the citizenry that is demanding the ascension of these destructive F's. We need a much deeper analysis than you have deigned to offer.

This is no time for BS, John. Things are already critical, and they are going to get much worse. And this means we're going to have to get comfortable with despair (there will be so much of it) in a quick minute. That is, if we ever want to transcend it. You, on the other hand, ran like hell when you got a tiny taste of how bad things really are.

Remember, I was seeking a productive, civil and real conversation, not some puerile regression into name-calling.

Last but not least, we're all going to need to look more deeply into the working of Divinity. (Convenient that we now all be in foxholes). There is a much bigger game going on than you seem to have any idea.

So, I'd say if you really want to make a difference - deepen yourself.

And P.S.

All of us need to be willing to have feisty, even confrontive conversations (and not run the other way) if we're ever going to shake out the truth.

John,

In AA it's called "The gift of desperation."

And the flight from the necessary experience of futility can be a pathology in and of itself. Like the failure to grieve or the flight into action.

Me thinks you're putting the cart far ahead of the horse.

War is also addictive. The bullies, being merciless themselves, are afraid to quit.

Drunk on power, fueled by macho, blessed by perceived entitlement, self-anointed as saviors, ideologically lobotomized.

While most of us do not or would prefer to not self-identify as 'poor', it's important to recognize that poor is relative. The US claims to be the richest country in the world, yet we show much evidence of poverty and decline. The article is headed by a photo of me with a young child at an AIDS/HIV orphanage in Uganda, when I visited the poorest sub-county in that country, as a volunteer for an NGO.

War is making us poor?
