Abortion. There it is, as dirty as politics can get. It took thousands of years for women to be "granted" the right of suffrage which turns out to be the right to suffer more. Choice is not easy.
It is even dirtier to talk about homeless women. This is what the cruelty of inequality and lack of compassion looks like as paradigms shift and elusive social acceptability "standards" that demand a kind of anti-platonic average instead of a perfect ideal gain traction. No need to strive if we are all the same kind of equality. If you don't make it, it's your fault and Darwin wins. You lose.
Women are far smarter than that. And pragmatic.
The politics of homelessness depends upon statistics and damn lies. Peggy is "God knows how old" and was a part of the French Resistance and totally against the privatization of social government functions - like the Post Office "Sell off" by Senator Feinstein's hubby. The librarians can't understand her so she got banned from the library but Tiger Cub already wrote about that.
Julita is 67. She sleeps at the post office while waiting for someone to care that she is in need of surgery. City Hall is not two blocks away but the elected elite can't be bothered to walk with the homeless. (I once new a city worker who slept with the homeless.)
The solutions are really simple and start with dignity. A safe place. Somewhere to leave your stuff locked and watched so you can even try to get some things done.
Ani is 76. Wrong sex for a buddhist so no one seems to notice while they worship the male lama. Kind of like the fascination with Shiva's lingham. She gets to walk all day and sleep in nooks and crannies at night.
Droid could get really potty mouth and bring up religion. Some pray in thanksgiving to not be born into submission. A submission maintained in "might makes right" is very Machiavellian and is not conducive to peace and harmony. Is it even close to Elo'im? Being murderous and moody is masculine?
To this Droid equality is not all the same but maybe all different and chaos is not all different but everything same, same and reality is not only stranger than fiction but subject to revision in the light of truth, if you can get it past the censorship of the mil-mind. Ever stop to wonder why mercenary military service is more noble than the war against smallpox waged by Peace Corps volunteers?
Politics is the insectoid brains ascendancy and the glorification of binary systems. Yes/No. War/Peace. Male/Female. Sex.
Gender. "the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex". Psyche seems to be just that everyone is messed up and no one really knows how or why or what to do really. Behavior is subject to carrot and whip molding as man has done to woman. Culturally would you rather be a secretary or a CEO? You want more or less money or power? A few hormones and voila'!
Does the equality of women include "transgender" in this obviously Hollywood inspired illusion that sex isn't sex - it is merely a role. Clothes. Hair or no hair. Passing is looking adequately real. Common mimicry.
Perhaps we can find assistance in grammar and gender.
Grammar In languages such as Latin, Greek Russian, and German each of the classes(typically masculine, feminine, common, neuter) of nouns and pronouns distinguished by the different inflections that they have and require in words syntactically associated with them. Grammatical gender is only very loosely associated with natural distinctions of sex.
Huh? It all just camp? It is all just theatre. Soooo, gender is no truth at all and the screwing with semantics leaves us with "men having babies" and "women with pricks". Oh, great, bitches with pricks. Wasn't that what Chas said to Letterman with the comment "I feel like an a**hole". and David gave the high five of a cat fist kiss.
This skews statistics into really damn lies and women's needs, which are different from men's, and don't get met. Transgenders indeed. They certainly are not transsexuals.
This is what comes of starting as things, chattle (note how close to cattle or the common law chatle) , as women have been labelled. And children. "Corporations are people", say the nine in black. I say no, they are chattle.
Women and children are people and not subject to privatization. Life is a collective responsibility. Responsibility is exactly the theme for women this International Day. Equally responsible, equally paid.
"What fools these mortals be", quoth Puck from the Sunday funnies long ago, as an arrow of attraction leaves the quiver of choices and pierces reason. And so it is, this Sunday, International Women's Day 2015, with a great leap forward in time (set your clocks ahead!).
