Right there, in black and white, was the KC Star's top story today: an article about the direct connection between corrupt lobbyist Jack Abramoff and White House officials.
Personally, I am very pleased to see the media starting to let the public become more aware with what is happening with our corrupt government.
It amazes me that the majority of Americans know of the corruption that is going on in Washington. But you don't hear people talking about it.
I'll tell you why. The Republican party and Republican-controlled government does not want the public to know what is really going on in Washington. They are looking out for themselves. That's why most people are not seeing much of this in the news, and why you don't hear about this as often as you should. Today's headline will be forgotten tomorrow, and we'll be back to bombarded stories of lower gas prices, and increased fear
of terrorism. That's what the Republican party and our current government majority is all about; money, fear and power. And they don't want you to know what is really going on.
Today's article by Philip Shenon from the New York Times states many facts, that shows the direct connection between Abramoff and White House officials. Here's a link to today's story:

This should be a top priority issue this election year. The people deserve to know what is going on in Washington, and what is going on with the people we have elected.
And what about my opponent, Roy Blunt? Well...there's a lot out there. A lot. Here's just a couple of resources about my opponent's direct ties to his former boss Tom Delay and also Abramoff:

There's a wealth of information out there. This is just a little bit to
inform you about as concerned Americans.
As an American citizen, it's great to see this front page story today. I think with Bob Ney's recent conviction, and Tom Delay's ongoing indictment, I believe the media will continue to inform the voting public of what is really going on, what we should really know and be talking about. I just hope the public is made aware of what they need to know in plenty of time before Election Day. The truth will come out. It is up to us to demand it.
Thank God for free speech and the freedom of the press.
Jack
