AFTER THE DUST SETTLED ON THE E-MAILS OF CLIMATE SCIENTISTS It is extremely misleading to report that some prominent climate scientists were exonerated by five separate independent investigations of the e-mails extracted from the computer files of the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit.

Post Mortem on Healthcare Reform Listening to President Obama and the Democrats in Congress talk about all of the transgressions of the health insurance companies as these politicians campaigned for the Health Insurance Subsidy Act of 2010, a reasonable person would conclude that health insurance companies have forfeited their place in our healthcare system. However, that reasonable person would be wrong.

TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE Although I am not under any illusion that elimination of the filibuster would eliminate the corruption that permeates the Senate, the filibuster does not have any legal protection other than that which is derived from the voluntary consent of the Senate itself.

Revisiting Campaign-Finance Reform My plan for substantial public financing of election campaigns provides a source of revenue that should neutralize the public's revulsion at the thought of tax dollars being spent for election campaigns.

Economic Stimulus Bill Fails Infrastructure and Jobs By marginalizing infrastructure spending in favor of ineffective tax cuts, President Obama and Congress have enginered economic stimulus legislation that will fail to address our infrastructure needs and also will fail to create enough jobs. This economic stimulus legislation is doomed to failure, and the failure will be blamed properly on the Democrats.

False Assumptions about the Presumption of Innocence The presumption of innocence is not a mandate that is imposed on all social discourse. It is not logical to assert, as a statement of fact, that a person is innocent until he/she has been proven to be guilty because it is possible for an innocent person to be convicted of a crime and it is possible for a guilty person to be acquitted of a crime.

BLUEPRINT FOR A NON-VIOLENT REVOLUTION No political issues can be resolved adequately if large numbers of eligible voters think that the elections are rigged or may be rigged, and no political issues can be resolved adequately if the current campaign-finance system of legalized bribery continues.

FEAR-MONGERING ABOUT MARTIAL LAW Distrust of our own government is well-founded, but recently, many people have abandoned rational thought before commenting on various websites about martial law.

GODFATHER PART IV: THE BAILOUT The economic bailout/sellout agreement that was rejected by the House of Representatives was more of an extortion racket than a compromise.

THE DEMOCRATS ARE WILLING SCHMUCKS ON THE BAILOUT BRIDGE TO NOWHERE Now, the Democrats are allowing themselves to be out-maneuvered by the Republicans so that the Democrats are doing the heavy lifting for the unpopular economic bailout/sellout, and this economic bailout/sellout will be even more unpopular when it inevitably goes sour.

FISA in the Land of 9-11 Changed Everything Yesterday was a day that will live in infamy due to the vote in the House of non-Representatives for FISA legislation that cripples the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution and also enables Congress to usurp the powers of the Judicial Branch by granting retroactive immunity to the telecommunication providers that assisted with the so-called Terrorist Surveillance Program.

REAL CAMPAIGN-FINANCE REFORM Because wealthy donors (particularly corporate interests) exert a pernicious influence that is extremely out of proportion to their population in the political process, we have a serious problem in need of a solution, and I think that my proposal for campaign-finance reform offers an innovative solution.

The Fog of FISA Most reasonable people understand that the individual rights which are protected by the Constitution are not absolute, even when those rights are expressed in language that is uncluttered and unequivocal, but we should be exceedingly skeptical when someone is torturing the English language to explain why it is legal for the government to engage in activity that ostensibly is prohibited by the Constitution.

THE DEMOCRATS CONTINUE TO WANDER IN THE DESERT

The Powerful and Obnoxious Odor of Mendacity: FISA and the Bill of Rights Congress has been struggling to craft a more permanent revision of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, revealing the competition between Democrats and Republicans as to who has a monopoly on contempt for the Constitution. Our so-called "war on terror" is an endless war; therefore, we are unwise to jettison essential elements of our Constitution because the thought of Islamic terrorists induces us to wet our pants.
