"Blown Opportunity. Now what? Post-State of the Union reflections" Panglossian optimism is not going to lead to unified Democratic government in the 2024 elections, as so many of my political friends seem to think and as so many MSM pundits and D-Party people gushed after Biden's State of the Union speech.

Looking Backward, Looking Forward: 2023, 2024, Before and Beyond In 1888, Edward Bellamy's forward-looking novel, Looking Backward 2000-1887, made a sensational impact in an American society reeling from the ravages of the Gilded Age's barbarous Capitalism and Social Darwinism. Bellamy's Boston of the futuristic year 2000 - as conveyed to us by time-traveler Julian West - gives us a utopian vision of universal justice, shared wealth, religious harmony, and global peace.

Guaranteed Health Care for All is Patriotic The second paragraph, "social contract" passage of the Declaration should focus our attention, laser-like, on the destructive and suffocating reality of the corporatized Medical-Industrial Complex (not to mention analogous military, media, prison, etc., industrial complexes) that puts profits over patients and practitioners -- with record-breaking legalized-larceny occurring now, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

George Floyd, Independence Day, and Rethinking the Single Payer Movement Our pro-democracy journey may well begin with the conquest of the Medical Industrial Complex, and a system of true Universal Health Care in its place, but it cannot stop there. We must strive to be a Whole and Complete Society that truly and equally values all lives. While Universal Health Care is our Mission, Universal Health must be our Vision.

NY Times Hit Piece on Bernie Sanders in Keeping With the Establishment's Leading News Organ rankly, this sexism-charge article is a warmed-over rehash of stories known and alleged two years ago a front-page, tabloid-style attack that nowhere approaches the New York Times boastful standard of "All the News That's Fit to Print." Rather, the piece is best understood as an attack piece by the establishment's "paper of record."

PA Study Proves Single-payer Health Care Will Save $17 Billion Annually and Cover Everybody in PA A new study demonstrates that Pennsylvania can provide comprehensive, universal health care to every Pennsylvanian while saving billions of dollars in the process. It is time the United States, was no longer the only holdout among the 34 advanced industrialized countries in the world, all of whom, but us, have universal health care.
