Thomas Bonsell is a former newspaper editor (in Oregon, New York and Colorado) United States Air Force cryptanalyst and National Security Agency intelligence agent. He became one of American journalism's leading constitutional experts through years of study at Georgetown University Graduate School of Government in Washington, D.C., and tries (without much success) to be patient with people who argue endlessly on subjects they have never studied. He is the author of "The Un-Americans: Trashing of the United States Constitution in the American Press", a critique of the mainstream media for ignorance of, or disdain for, our constitutional principles of self-government. He left newspaper work years ago, disgusted at the direction the Fourth Estate ~ under the mismanagement of ineffectual, out-of-touch, can't-do executives ~ was taking away from honest responsible journalism and the observation that there was no place in the mainstream media for a progressive, or liberal, constitutional "expert". Bonsell is an honors graduate of Woodbury College (Los Angeles, California) with a bachelor of business administration degree. He is profiled in Marquis Who's Who in America. (Self-portrait, above, was handled to make author/artist appear prettier than he actually is.)

Various tax scams plaguing US Now that the taxman has finished, for the time being, nibbling on our "fortunes," it is time to look at a taxing system that needs major overhauls and detect which "reforms" are out-and-out scams.

The Conservative 'Mind' Probed With the neo-con cabal seemingly approaching the end of its destructive run in America, we need to look at the conservative mind to see why we arrived where we are today.

One Way to Solve US Economic Problems The United States has been on the road to financial ruin, starting with the election of Ronald Reagan in 1980. There is an exit, if we are willing to try and to persevere however long it takes. And it will take time.

Karl Marx Defended ~ Reluctantly The old saying is to learn from the past so as not to repeat it. Apparently we have learned nothing, and taking a look at the hysteria over communism should illustrate that.

Not Knowing One Word Could Be Disastrous to Freedom Americans, of all political persuasions, cite the United States Constitution in an attempt to justify their opinions. Failure to understand a single word can lead to a position contrary to constitutional principles. This article will consider one word.

Protecting Our Constitution From Those Who Would 'Save' It Americans who care about preserving the United States Constitution should be concerned about the conservative judicial philosophy called "originalism" that's espoused by judges such as Antonin Scalia and right-wing supporters of President George W. Bush. But "originalism" ~ or "original intent of the Founders" ~ weakens the very Constitution righties claim to be saving.
