For 30 years Dr. McCluney was principal research scientist at the Florida Solar Energy Center, a research institute of the University of Central Florida. He holds B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in physics and has published over 60 popular and technical articles as well as several books. He is currently a consulting physicist in Tennessee. He has been studying, lecturing, and writing on energy and environmental policy for several decades.

De-Growth conference. April 29 - May 2nd This conference gets to the core new thinking that is needed. And coming up with ways to implement the new social contract that needs to emerge. I will be unable to attend, but hopefully good things will come from this effort. I'm glad that talented people are addressing this critical issue.

Conspiracy Thinking and Climate Change Dr. Ross McCluney (and son) respond to climate change denial thinking that can be seen in some of the comments offered on his recent articles. Kevin McCluney's response, quoted by his father and used here with permission is of particular interest as it distinguishes the reliability of various "proofs" that authors cite to validate the opinion or theory they favor.

On Climate Science Denial Dr. Ross McCluney thinks that all this mumbo jumbo about global warming being a hoax is little more than wishful thinking turned into anti-scholarship. Denial of clear scientific evidence reigns supreme in financial circles and on the blogosphere. Certain people don't want global warming to be real and human-caused, because they'd have to make some huge changes in their ways of doing business ...

Our Global Ponzi Economy Environmental policy issues are generally set by “leaders” in industry and government, who are failing to lead us away from danger -- the cliff we approach. Most of us feel like we're the little guys, can't change large-scale misguided policy, don't have access to the powerful leaders in big cities far away from us. But the more we work to change our individual and local communities, the more our leaders will respond.
