For over 25 years, I have been working to reduce the world's reliance on fossil fuels and to make building energy systems more efficient, effective and maintainable. I am the owner of an environmental engineering consulting firm that works to turn buildings from energy users into energy producers. Most of my job is educating people on how to do this and how to make certain that the A/E firms they hire will meet their long term goals for energy, maintenance and comfort and productivity.
To relieve the frustration from my day job, I am heavily involved in Transition Towns. We define Transition Towns as a group of neighbors intent on building a strong, healthy, sustainable community using renewable, non-polluting, sustainable resources. We utilize the wisdom, talents and strengths of our neighbors and we seek to inspire others to do the same.
