Mr Waugh lives in Virgina and has written computer code, sometimes being paid for that. In political terms, he advocates that governments must engineer the survival of the human species in the face of what seem to be serious risks of early extinction due to excess carbonic acid and other greenhouse gases. Waugh opposes aggressive war by the US, whether direct or by proxy. He opposes torture by US officials and advocates vigorous investigation and prosecution of such crimes. He advocates for evaluative voting as the primary measure for according the citizens equal power to one another in choosing representatives. In connection with voting, Waugh also recognizes the need for assurances that the elections are accurately tallied and that barriers to voting are torn down. However, it is his position that the voting system is central. He spreads the arguments, originated by others, to the effect that even with an accurate tally, and even with every citizen being able to vote, and even with attempts to restrict political money, no democratic representation is possible with FPtP nor with IRV (howsoever its advocates keep renaming it).
