MYTH: According to the Republicans, receiving unemployment compensation discourages people from seeking work. FACT: I looked for work every day. It wasn't until months AFTER I exhausted all my unemployment insurance did I finally give up looking for work. It was only THEN did I lose hope and contemplate suicide.

General Motors (GM) was not first bailed out by U.S. taxpayers in 2008. GM was first bailed out during World War II - to the tune of $285 billion. Since 1784 to the present, American companies have had long relationships with China - and they have sacrificed American lives (soldiers and domestic workers) and national treasure in pursuit of company profits, and hid behind the ideology of American capitalism.

The GOP's argument that eliminating tax cuts for the rich (those earning over $250,000 a year) would hurt small businesses could very well be a myth. $250,000 a year is only related to PERSONAL income and is never mentioned when compared to actual GROSS earnings.
