Why We Need Black-White Unity to Save America-An Historical Perspective My second submission to Op ed news. We have had a number of race related stories lately, including the printing of a racist anti-Obama cartoon in the New York Post. This article attempts to BEGIN to put our history of institutionalized racism into the current debate, so that we can overcome this system and thereby establish a more just America.

Why We Need A Movement to Work With President Obama to Achieve Fundamental Social and Political Change- Many people also believe that Obama will look to the actions taken by FDR and the New Deal in order to formulate legislation aimed at revitalizing the economy. But the progressive aspects of the New Deal were instituted after years of struggle by labor unions and numerous Unemployed Councils that marched, struck and agitated for relief for the unemployed and demanded a cessation of foreclosures.
