California Budget Cuts Hurt the Laboring Poor The upcoming public assistance cuts in California will not stop welfare fraud. Rather, the cuts, especially childcare subsidies to working families, will force many workers to quit their jobs. The result? More people will be on welfare, and the State's crisis will worsen.
