Why the US and UK are Both in Constitutional Crisis, Each in its Own Way This article considers the fundamental differences in the US and UK constitutional systems and how these differences contribute to the current crises of both countries. It makes a pleas for legislatures to reaffirm their constitutional powers and responsibilities rather than 'passing the buck' to courts, heads of state, and even the extra-congressional/parliamentary voice of the people.

'Bullshit' Populism Contrary to bullshit-skeptics, I argue a pervasive culture of bullshit and indifference to truth contributed directly to the US Capitol storming January 6. Throughout his presidency, Trump was widely seen as both a populist and a 'bullshitter.' Did his brand of 'Bullshit populism' contribute to the Capital storming? I define and critique 'Bullshit populism' as an urgent threat to democracy.
