I am a journalist who loves psychology, technology and the internet.
Before going to college and getting a degree in mass communication and journalism, I tried owning pet stores, working construction, installing electrical control systems, selling leather coats and waiting tables.
Back when lolcats were a new thing, an article I wrote about the phenomenon was published at icanhascheezeburger.com and was later featured on Boing Boing, which led to an interview in, of all things, the Wall Street Journal.
As a journalist, I cut my teeth covering Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast and in the Pine Belt for several newspapers in the area.
I am now employed as director of new media for a broadcast television company where I’m also producing a television show focusing on the music of the Deep South.
I’m married to Amanda McRaney and live in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
