I am a Vietnam War veteran. After returning stateside I served directly under Lt. General Lawrence J. Lincoln, 4th Army Commanding General at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, in the general's honor guard until discharge. Professionally, I spent many tedious years in various managerial positions in the insurance field, and in an advisory capacity as an underwriter. I have 23 grandchildren, none on the way, last count. Some say, true knowledge exists knowing that you know nothing. Our deepest beliefs, our perception of life and the universe are conditioned by our experiences, education and the mass of other external influences. To a certain extent intelligence can be measured by the degree we are able to let go of those preconditioned, previously held concepts when confronted by reliable information that show those concepts to be mistaken or overly simplistic. The ability to grow and expand our awareness has little to do with IQ, it is rather the ability to step outside of our beliefs and consider information that does not fit our previously held view of reality. Those thoughts originate from others, wise and intelligent. - It took a while to learn -- No woman is perfect until you fall in love with her.
