Joe Lauria has been a independent journalist covering international affairs and the Middle East for more than 20 years. A former Wall Street Journal United Nations correspondent, Mr. Lauria has been an investigative reporter for The Sunday Times of London, and has also corresponded from the U.N. in New York for the The Boston Globe, The Montreal Gazette, The London Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mail, The Johannesburg Star, and The National. He has reported on business and finance for Bloomberg News and was New York correspondent for The Sunday Business of London.
Mr. Lauria's work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Salon.com, New York Magazine and The Guardian, among other publications. He has appeared on BBC World, PBS News Hour, Al-Jazeera, CNN, and other TV and radio programs. Mr. Lauria has taught journalism at two American universities and travelled widely throughout the Middle East and the world. He is the author, with former U.S. Senator and American presidential candidate Mike Gravel, of A Political Odyssey, published by Seven Stories Press.  Joe Lauria is editor-in-chief of Consortium News.
