Michael is a lawyer, now retired from the private practice. His focus for the past thirty years has been on environmental policy. He has written about and given talks on the need to learn of and employ the the civil emergency provision in the U.S. Constitution. It's the domestic violence clause, found in Article IV, Section 4. Our current environmental crisis, Michael urges, qualifies as a condition of Constitutional domestic violence. Americans, he says, need to understand and to use that provision in order to ensure our survival. The book he wrote on this subject is If You Can Keep It: A Constitutional Roadmap to Environmental Security. (1996)
