These tend to be very long, often disorganized, usually one sided, and they add little or nothing new to discussion. It takes a lot of time to read 5,000 word or longer articles and there's only so much time in the day. We will reject articles submitted along those lines, especially if they mention the USS forrester, out of context to current events (we get a lot of those too.) We WILL continue to publish commentary on current events, related to current news. There's enough going on TODAY that can be discussed, and there are other forums that will take these long pieces. We're not going to anymore, at least for quite a while. They drain our limited resources too much. We WILL take and always seek articles that report on progress in the middle east-- successful peace efforts, movements toward democracy... Send them in.
