In a move that on the one hand targets all the right-wing propaganda about the alleged "dictatorship" in Venezuela, but that on the other tests the very foundation of the Bolivarian Revolution and puts the very existence of it at risk, Nicolas Maduro just summoned a new Constitutional Assembly. The Chavista program - outlined only in general terms so far - would be to strengthen the 1999 Bolivarian Constitution and to give a Constitutional status to Missions that thus could not be privatised. According to the Constitution, no power can challenge the power of the Constitutional Assembly if it's summoned.
