Ted in "Stranglehold," Willard suffers "White House Fever"

Outraged citizens here in Washington State and all across America appear to be singing the same tunes following former rocker Ted Nugent's recent comments threatening President Barack Obama and the United States government.

Those aforementioned tunes might be titled, "Boycott the Bombastic Bow-Hunter," (sung to the tune of "Puff the Magic Dragon") and "Sedition" (fiddling with "Tradition").

Appearing before a raucous audience of angry, frightened, frustrated old white guys (aka a National Rifle Association convention), Ted Nugent whipped the crowd into a frenzy by suggesting it might be a grand idea to take up arms against President Obama and the U.S. government and chop off some heads.

Recalling how country stars The Dixie Chicks were reviled and boycotted for simply stating their dismay at being from the same state (Texas) as then-President George W. Bush following the ill-advised invasion of Iran, listeners are wondering why their local rock stations aren't likewise refusing to play old Ted Nugent standards like "Stranglehold" and "Cat Scratch Fever." But the anti-Ted tsunami appears to be swelling, as folks contact their favorite DJs, asking them to speak out against Nugent's treasonous rants and demanding they remove any and all of the former draft-dodger's music from their playlists.

Although Secret Service agents reportedly paid a visit to Nugent, there are apparently no plans to arrest the Vietnam War opponent who has morphed into a right-wing firebrand. But since fellow draft-dodgers George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Trump have risen to positions of great power with impunity, it might be argued, why not a washed-up guitarist like Ted Nugent?

Still, across the land, cries for his arrest resound.

In an era when battling terrorism is such a high priority that Americans are ceding their personal liberties in hopes of greater security, one wonders why a wannabe domestic terrorist like Ted Nugent remains free.

One also might wonder why wannabe presidential candidate Willard "Mitt" Romney (R-Bain Capital) would actually seek the support of such a seditionist.

"White House Fever" perhaps?
