My mother used to say that you are judged by the company that you keep.
The recent frenzy that has followed the “discovery” of Obama’s preacher is more frenetic than finding Saddam in a hole.
It has caused hysteria among pundits about whether or not O is a “real American”, or if he, like his Pastor Wright, has passionate American or should I say somewhat anti-American sentiments
In my utter curiosity about the whole thing, I even watched Bill O’Reilly last night. I thought my TV would explode as my home is a NO FOX ZONE-but I digress.
There were two black women defending Obama and the pastor. They were also saying the reaction, to this pastor, was an overreaction.
I was, at that moment, simultaneously IMing with my VERY pro-Obama spouse saying “if a white candidate had the SAME affiliation with this type of pastor-mentor…”
Oh, now I supposed I will be accused of being a racist. Whatever. I am not a racist but a realist.
To state that Pastor Wright signifies a sort of danger-Will Robinson and that his influence on Obama is food for thought does not require a Kierkegaard leap.
Obama denounces the remarks made by Wright. That seems to be enough for some people.
It is not enough for me.
I don’t know Barak Obama. I never had dinner, drinks, or whatever with him. I only can judge him by the company he keeps and moreover his MENTOR. That is a big one…this guy Wright (weather right or wrong in thought) has been a key player in O’s life.
A voter needs to think about that- and the agenda that this relationship may or may not bring to an Obama presidency.
I planned on voting for Hilary, regardless, even before all of this hoopla; however I think it is very naïve of the Obama supporters to NOT consider this affiliation as valid.
“Well, just because he helps consult him about his family doesn’t mean he consults him about political stuff”. True?
Well, if I were Dr. Evil- my response to that might be “RIIIIIIIIIIIIIght”.
