At various times in the history of our world, those who were and are considered the most learned and intellectually advanced have promoted the most ridiculous hypothetical nonsense as undeniable truths. Fear and vanity fueled concepts like runaway engines without any verifiable or empirical evidence have taken precedence over logic and rational thought periodically from time immemorial.
Invariably, and in every case, misery and suffering have followed in the footsteps of whatever practitioners were promoting whatever cockamamie insult to intelligence their allegiance dictates. We, as a society and to our shame, are late in accepting this reality. It seems the greater the ego and vanity collectively or individually, the more reluctant people remain to discard the fables of the past.
Truth will and does prevail but the costs are heavy even as progress is made one tiny step at a time. Indoctrinated in many cases from birth, the cycle continues as mentally impregnated with the same ideology parents hand down or force feed these myths to the innocent and susceptible minds of their children. Breaking these chains can be difficult if nearly impossible for all but the strongest willed in many cases. Throughout the world civilization has had to modify its own progress to deal with the chaos these actions represent and have been responsible for. Any prison, correctional facility, or mental institution in the world examined by a nonbiased authority will reveal the vast majority of the incarcerated to have religious affiliations. Only a few hundred years ago Christianity was responsible for some of the most horrendous atrocities ever recorded during what is referred to as "The Inquisition. And don't for one minute think that this contagion doesn't lie smoldering just under the blanket of so called tolerance and forgiveness. Like a deadly viper it waits for any opportunity to strike the unwary with violent and poisonous venom. Today, that same scenario is being played out as another "Holy War, Jihad, or Fatwa throughout the Middle East all in the name of some imaginary sky fairy fantasy.
World populations today are slowly but surely responding to these illegitimate postulates within the confines of modern society. The overwhelming majority of reluctance and resistance is located in third world environments where preachers, imams, priests and witch doctors are still held in high esteem by their constituents supported by fanatical ideologies so far fetched as to give Stephen King and Anne Rice nightmares. The weirdest minds in the entire science fiction genre cannot begin to compete with what many consider as "gospel truths by those who practice the hocus-pocus of religious nonsense. Science and governments worldwide are challenged by these deeply ingrained regimens of deceit as dogmatic rote is touted and practiced in the remotest regions of our planet. Our world itself is compromised by the incredulity of certain posits proclaimed by these diseases. Peace, prosperity, and the harmony of nations have been and are being damaged even as these words are written in the name of some wampus/wumpus from the deranged minds who hear THE voices inside their head.
A very large percentage of world leaders and politicians today who present themselves publicly as devout practitioners of whatever brouhaha the majority of voters and soldiers align their selves with are privately far removed from any thoughts pertaining to these same credos they support as public sycophants. The religious hypocrisy of these same "leaders are partially responsible for the conditions their hypocrisy renders on the masses they represent as well as the inhabitants of the rest of the world that these masses affect. They may have the education to resist the religious indoctrination that enslaves their people but at the same time they have the guile to realize who "butters their bread and so conducts themselves accordingly. This aberration of protocol also applies to the business world as public relations today often dictate the success or failure of any enterprise. Don't delude yourselves. Just as within the political arena, the world of Corporate America remains vigilant examining the ebb and flow pertaining to the whims of public opinion and whichever deific personality is in charge at any given time. It's a given that you're not going to sell many witch costumes at Easter and the same mistletoe presentation that represents Druids probably won't win applause during Hanukah, (please refer to my essay, Religion and Politics). There's a fine line between public servants and public sycophants. The latter pertains to the business community as well as the political systems.
These nightmares not only inspire those directly associated with religion or the leeches who prosper through manipulation and coercion but the direct criminal element and mentally unstable members of society are given the opportunities to carry on their activities through imaginary associations. Talk to any number of psychiatrists, psychologists, or sociologists and find the truth about mass murderers, pedophiles, sadists, and other assorted deviants. You'll find the numbers shocking. The numbers of religious leaders that include priests and preachers is staggering when uncovered and keep in mind these are the ones who've been discovered. Not only the perverted but ordinary thieves, rogues, con-men, and embezzlers fill the pulpits everywhere. Holy-rollers will roll anyone within reach. A very great deal is kept "under wraps by the church or other bodies of religious affiliation. Terrorism itself is espoused, exported, procured, and promoted by the denizens of mosques and cathedrals. Northern Ireland, Central America, the Middle East, the entire continent of Africa, and the list goes on. Hi-jacking, kidnappings, bombing, assassinations, beatings, and other assorted feats of brutality are the order of the day in this or that holy name. Burkhas, robes, and churches all conceal booby-traps that the administrators will unleash not only committing suicide but without regard to any and all bystanders and term it "The will of God. If you happen to be a woman or a homosexual the punishments are worse and more frequent if you happen to be around after the first. Races and ethnic backgrounds can be the primary targets of the love, grace, and salvation religions promote. Anyone or anything that challenges or even asks too many questions is subject to the ire of Islam or condemnation by the church. The sooner mankind recognizes religion for what it is and rejects these abominations the sooner mankind will recognize compassion and embrace harmony.
