TIME FOR DEMOCRATS TO SCRAP WELFARE
By Rod Rylander
Many Republicans throw welfare up as an argument for being a Republican so if the Democrats would devise a program eliminating most welfare expenditures, it would get many Republicans moving to the Democratic ticket.
Except for the people on disability and child support, the food stamp program and most of welfare would be eliminated on the condition that the lowest paid employee of a company or persons performing services or providing product to the company receives compensation no less than 10% of the highest compensated person in the corporation or of a consultant or contractor for the corporation. All companies importing goods or services to the States would have to conform to the system. For unemployed people, the government would provide jobs improving the infrastructure of the country until they can find jobs in the private sector. They would be paid 75 % of what the private sector pays so they will be encouraged to be hired by the private sector.
A program such as this would redistribute the wealth of the world and spur the economy since the populace would have more money to spend on goods and services.
To supplement the system, a income tax change would be that a maximum of 10% of total income of an individual or corporation would be allowed as a deduction for unearned income (speculation, interest, tax exempted income, depletion, etc).
