The Governor sent an e-mail from Oakdale Federal Prison today -- Iowa Caucus Day. Democracy is reviving everywhere, people! Onward!
From Oakdale federal Prison:
Today marks the first in the nation prison political caucus with Trump running far ahead of his GOP rivals, winning with 74% of those voting for Republicans and Bernie Sanders distancing former Secretary of State Clinton 56.2% to 43.7%.
Yet the vote for Democrats doubled those for all Republicans.
Inmates at Oakdale Louisiana's Federal Prison Camp met in caucuses from 2:30 PM. to 5:00 PM.
One of the organizers, writing under his nom de plume, "Rob Houseman" said:
"The afternoon started with a bit of confusion, as everyone stared at each other not quite knowing what to do. The official Oakdale Prison Presidential Caucus was officially beginning and it was already more confusing than we previously anticipated it would be. Last night, around8:00 P.M., the idea was birthed, and by this afternoon there was no turning back.
We had already jumped ahead of ourselves and posted a sign on both bulletin boards announcing the vote for the following day. We decided on the slogan: "2016 Oakdale Presidential Straw Poll, Tomorrow During Evening Meal". Simple enough we thought, but while the sign was being posted rumblings could be heard of people asking "What's a Straw Poll ?" The confusion had officially set in and we were T-Minus 20 hours from the start of the voting.
