Doug Ford is refusing the point.
In shuffling his cabinet, Doug Ford is pretending to acknowledge the polls.
Ford seems to believe--or hope--that the optics of shifting people and furniture around is going to make a difference. Lopping off a portion of a file here, (slightly) demoting someone there is the same song--with synonyms. I am beginning to wonder if, even, he suspects that he won't make it through one term. Will he step down?
While I was still on Twitter, someone tweeted that we are not living "A Christmas Carol", and that Doug Ford would not be "visited", leading him to, overnight, become a better person, and that it is up to the public to "make his life a living hell". Even though this expected cabinet shuffle would be at an expected point in Doug Ford's reign, it could, also, be an indication that Ford may be having some trouble sleeping at night.
